Product Description

IC200ALG620 is a VersaMax Analog Input RTD Module that accepts input signals from up to 4 RTD with 16 bits of resolution. The IC200ALG620 is unique in that it requires no external power supply as the excitation current for the RTD is provided by the module when configured to the RTD type. The RTD Analog Input Module allows inputs from four independent three or four wire RTDs. These can be platinum, nickel/iron, nickel, or even copper depending on user preference and availability.

Specific features for the IC200ALG620 include selectable resistance measurements in tenths of degrees or ohms. Individual channel configuration is featured with selectable resistance ranges of 0-500 or 0-3000 ohms. Reports of high/low, open wire, under/over range, and input short alarms are also standard. The IC200ALG620 offers two data acquisition rates based on the 50 or 60 Hz line frequencies.

As with many modules, LED indicators are standard and indicate normal operation, updates, errors, or lack of power in the backplane. Automatic A/D calibration occurs at power-up and is repeated periodically to account for ambient temperature changes around the module. The RTD input module provides for four words on input data and is compatible with a number of PLC CPU and NIU versions of 1.10 or higher in most cases.

Upon installation, no loop power is required, but the cable should be grounded at the source device or at the I/O module using an auxiliary I/O terminal. Depending on the way the module is installed and the use of the module, different types of grounding or set up may be needed.

Each channel in the IC200ALG620 module can be configured as either inactive or active based on user needs. However, if the channel is inactive, it remains unscanned and set as a value of zero. The user also has the option to set alarm limits within the provided range or beyond the range so they will never be activated.
